Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the smooth flow of quality labeling, packaging, dating and palletizing of product from raw materials to finished product.

 

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. The employee will occasionally use chemicals and conditions can be moist to wet. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is consistently required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses and hearing protectors. The use of smocks and hairnets (and/or beard nets) is required while in the plant. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all containers are accurately dated and labeled. Confine all undated or unlabeled containers to the labeling area.
  • Operate equipment following standard production and safety standard; notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Efficiently operate and changeover all equipment within the bottle feeding area for bottles and labels; pre-operational set-ups of the labeling area on all three lines, properly set-up and clean all video jet heads, etc.
  • Communicate all mechanical problems, changes or adjustments which are not part of the normal changeover procedure to the lead or supervisor.
  • Communicate any food safety or quality issues with supervisor.
  • Works in coordination with filler operators, packer operators and other personnel to maintain a smooth and efficient production operation.
  • Maintain TQM and downtime records and perform all quality checks in a timely manner.
  • Able to read and comprehend production schedule; ensure that all production is documented on the production sheets accurately, legibly, and timely.
  • Develop general knowledge of products, bottles, dates and other related information.
  • Maintain a clean and well organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency.
  • Understand and follow all SOPs for this area.
  • This position is backed up by Juice Plant Leads and other Juice Plant Operators.
  • This position serves as back up for other Juice Plant Operators, Janitorial Specialist, and Blow Mold Packers.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Flexibility in the work environment; willing to learn additional equipment as required.
  • Solid basic math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Individual is process and detail oriented; able to perform repetitive tasks and maintain high quality work.
  • Possesses good mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Able to work varied shifts, including weekends.
