Job Summary:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting the Payroll Department in all aspects of payroll processing. The Payroll Administrator is also responsible for having technical expertise and providing system support for Johanna Foods’ Human Resource Information System (HRIS).  The incumbent in this role performs a variety of day-to-day administrative HRIS functions, all aimed at ensuring data integrity and the accurate processing and reporting of HR data.

Responsibilities

  • Essential Functions:

    • Prepare and maintain all employee personnel and payroll files assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality, including all job-related documentation, offer letters, employment applications, employee information sheets, benefit enrollment forms, W-4s, direct deposit forms and status change forms.
    • Assist in the processing and transmission of union payrolls.
    • Assist with the payroll audit for each pay period.
    • Assist with the auditing of employee time records in the Time and Attendance System, including exception time to ensure employees are accurately compensated for their hours worked.
    • Monitor the HRIS system performance and identify processes that need improvement.
    • Assist with HRIS system maintenance during system upgrades, clearly communicating any known down-time or outages to all end-users.
    • Utilizing the HRIS, generate and distribute required ad-hoc reports
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of Human Resources/Payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience utilizing electronic payroll, time keeping and HRIS systems required
  • Experience using Ceridian/Dayforce preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to payroll
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong technical, trouble-shooting, problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with union payrolls a plus
