Job Summary:
Sales Accountant has full responsibility for month end closing and reporting of sales revenue, promotional accruals, and promotional expenses for Johanna Foods, Inc. They have a high level of understanding of the revenue cycle and components of Gross Revenue to Net Revenue. The role partners with Sales Leadership and Finance to report KPIs on divisional, customer and product sales and journal entries in accordance with monthly closing schedules. The role owns Masterfile maintenance to ensure accurate product and customer profiles within the Johanna system.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, analyze and reconcile off invoice and bill back allowances including misc. customer deductions (slotting, ad fees, off invoice, etc…) to ensure spending remains within approved promotional guidelines. This includes analysis of actuals and journal entry accruals.
  • Maintain Masterfiles (product profiles (new and existing), customer profiles, pricing, terms, freight) for all finished products, pricing groups, freight schedules, and customer files in system.
  • Enter new pricing and price changes into the system, and maintain price and promos log. Meet with Sales and Finance leadership to review and ensure accuracy.
  • Preparation of monthly sales reports for management - monthly, incentive period, and YTD sales by category, division, customer and product.
  • Preparation, distribution and remediation of Price discrepancy.
  • Analysis of monthly net realized product prices.
  • Monthly reconciliation of various G/L balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain a rapport with various levels of management in Sales and Supply Chain. Stay current with changes in plant facilities and operations.
  • Reconcile Leased Pallets received and shipped between company physical inventory and supplier records. Analyzes weekly invoices and submits finding and invoice to procurement for approval.
  • Assist in year-end annual audits.

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required, four year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in sales accounting or auditing
  • Experience within a consumer products manufacturer preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and attention to detail are a must
  • Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel (Hyperion/ Smartview)
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Willingness to drill into the detail to understand cause and drive improvement
