    Job Summary:

     

    Responsible for planning and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives.  Monitors and advises on how the quality management system is performing and publishes data and reports regarding Company performance against set indicators.  The QA Manager, Beverage will also liaison with managers and staff throughout the plant to ensure that the QA System is functioning properly.  Where appropriate, advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality

    Responsibilities

    • Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the Beverage Plant.
    • Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
    • Maintaining awareness of the business context and plant productivity, including
      budgetary control issues.
    • Assessing suppliers’ and own company’s product specification and customer
    • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external
    • Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
    • Considering the application of environmental and health/safety standards.
    • Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff
      to apply.
    • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
    • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation.
    • Identifying relevant quality-related training needs.
    • Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters.
    • Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated
      and that product modifications are investigated, if necessary.
    • Supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
    • Writing technical and management system reports.
    • Persuading reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality
    • Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action
      and compliance with customer’s specifications.
    • Monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical
    • Ensure compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety, and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices.
    • Oversees the Quality Plan. Raw material and finished product compliance with specifications and regulatory, sanitation verification.
    • Serves as Alternate to Director of Food Safety and Security on the JFI SQF Team.
    • Serves as Alternate to Director of Manufacturing on the JFI SQF Team.
    • Serves as Alternate to Manager of Quality Assurance Aseptic on the JFI SQF Team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Business,
      Industrial Management, Industrial Technology, Math or related field.
    • Four (4) plus years of supervisory experience in manufactory environment preferred.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or able to work in the S. for reasons other than practical
      training.
    • Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, adaptability, and communication skills
      are necessary for success in this position.
