    Job Summary:

     

    The Production Planner is responsible for execution and control of Juice Operations production orders.  Updates and maintains the daily production schedule and is the liaison with operations management.  Provides status on progress and constraints to the execution of the master production schedule.  Coordinates with Director of Logistics to establish and prioritize the production of finished goods product.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyzes MRP output on a continual basis and translates output into a weekly and daily production schedule.
    • Keeps management informed and reports on the daily production needs and completions, and any shortages that may affect production releases and/or deliveries.
    • Monitors and maintains the finished good inventories through the use of automated reporting tools and takes action when inventory levels rise or fall below desired levels or if inventory quality issues arise.
    • Assists in physical inventories and a cycle counting and alerts appropriate personnel when minimum re-order points are reached.
    • Assist in the development of metrics, reports, and/or other tools for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices.
    • Serves as alternate to Material Scheduler, Juice Operations.
    • Reconcile production from the previous day.
      • Validate WMS numbers
      • Ensure all scheduled orders were completed
      • Reconcile all rework activities
      • Submit validated production numbers to accounting
    • Develop and communicate production forecast
      • Weekly plan
      • Focus on efficient and reduced changeovers
      • Maximize warehouse space
      • Meet customer needs
      • Forecast the shutdown plan for the week
    • Provide feedback to supervisors on changes made during the day.
    • Supports Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
    • Candidate core competencies
      • Must have a strong knowledge of Chilled Juice plant operations
      • Understand quality requirement (Kosher, standard of identity, flush guide, CIP requirements, etc.)
      • Understand all production capacities, conflicts, labor requirements, etc.
      • Knowledge of raw materials / ingredients in SKUs
      • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and levels
      • Ability to lead team meetings
      • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
      • Previous knowledge in Warehouse Management System is a plus

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3 – 5 years related experience, including manufacturing planning, production and inventory control.
