    Job Summary: 

    Manage all utilities functions including but not limited to, boiler, refrigeration, compressed air supply, water supply, fire sprinkler system, storm water system, wastewater treatment plant maintenance, and power functions. Supervise the employees that operate and/or maintain these services. Operate within the state and federal regulation compliance as it pertains to these and other systems.

    Responsibilities

    The person in this role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plant utilities services including steam, refrigeration, compressed air supply, water supply, fire sprinkler system, storm water system, wastewater treatment plant maintenance, and power distribution. Being vital to all plant operations; a 100% reliability of these systems and 100% uptime is the mandatory goal.

     

    The supervisor is responsible to ensure that the utilities systems are operated safely and that all government, industry, and company regulations, policies, and guidelines are strictly and rigorously followed.

    Qualifications

    Education:

     

    Technical school or engineering degree with specific course work and/or field experience with high-pressure boilers and ammonia refrigeration systems.

     

    Experience:

     

    Experience and familiarity with high-pressure boiler, and ammonia refrigeration systems. State of New Jersey licenses to operate both high-pressure boilers and ammonia systems. Knowledge of the New Jersey DEP’s Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act (TCPA) as it pertains to the use of ammonia in the refrigeration system. Familiarity with electrical power distribution and general maintenance skills and background. Past supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

     

    Job Skills:

     

    The proven ability to manage technical operators and maintenance operations. Highly honed mechanical and repair skills and knowledge. Ability to do electrical and controls troubleshooting.

     

    Physical Demands:

     

    Standing, lifting, climbing, twisting, squatting, good eye sight, and good hand coordination.
